Reels & content shoots
Reels work, run like a business
Reels pay per piece, repeat every month and die by the deadline — nothing like a wedding. Photo Sathi gives reels work its own package template, its own delivery tracking and its own client approval, so nothing sits forgotten in an editor’s folder.
Reels ka kaam shaadi jaisa nahi hota — har mahine chhota kaam, jaldi delivery. Photo Sathi me reels ka apna package template hai, har reel ka status dikhta hai, aur client approval bhi yahin se ho jati hai.
Why reels need different handling
A wedding is one big job with one date. Reels are the opposite: four to eight small pieces a month, each with its own shoot, edit, revision and posting date, often for the same client again and again. Track that in a wedding CRM and everything slips — which reel is shot, which is edited, which is waiting for the client to say yes.
Price reels the way you actually charge
Photo Sathi’s reels quotation template already has the lines a content package needs, and you change the rates to yours:
- Per reel — vertical 9:16, up to 60 seconds, with a set number of revisions written in.
- Shoot day — half day or full day, with gimbal and lights.
- Hooks, captions and trending audio — the work everyone does for free until they put it on the quotation.
- Monthly retainer — put the number of reels in the quantity and the client sees exactly what the month includes.
The client opens the quotation on their phone and taps Accept. When it is time to bill, the same quotation becomes a GST invoice in one click, and a paid invoice prints as a receipt.
From shoot day to posted
Put the shoot day in the calendar with the venue and the crew, so the gimbal person and the editor both know.
Each reel is a task with a due date and an owner. Your editor sees only their own tasks and ticks them off.
Share the proofs on a private link. The client hearts what they like and sends it back — no long voice notes.
The same client, every month
Reels clients are repeat clients, and repeat clients are where the money is. The Clients tab keeps every person in one list — what they booked, what they have paid, what is still to collect, and how many times they have come back. When it is time for next month’s package, the last quotation is right there to copy.
Know which work is worth it
Reports split your work by event type, so you can see plainly what reels earned this month against weddings and events, and which source — Instagram, reference, walk-in — brings the reels enquiries. Most studios are surprised by the answer.
Also good for
- Content creators and social media managers who shoot for brands.
- Wedding studios adding a reels team, who need it kept separate from album work.
- Freelancers doing product, café and salon reels on a monthly package.
Common questions
Can I charge per reel instead of per day?
Yes. Put the number of reels in the quantity and your rate against it. The quotation totals it for you, adds GST if you use it, and the client can accept it on their phone.
How do I track a monthly retainer?
Make one booking for the month and one task per reel with its due date and owner. Your Tasks list then shows exactly what is shot, what is being edited and what is done.
Can the client approve reels here?
You can share proof frames or stills on a private gallery link and the client marks what they approve. Video files themselves are still shared your usual way — video hosting is planned for a later version.
Does it work for brand and product shoots too?
Yes. Reels, product shoots, café and salon content — anything billed per piece or per month fits the same package, task and invoice flow.
I do weddings and reels both. Will they mix up?
No. Every booking carries its event type, and your calendar, tasks and reports keep them separate while still showing the full month in one view.
